Sounds Good for Southend!
Southend United is delighted to announce that it has agreed a partnership with Southend Radio 105.1FM that will see the radio station become the official commercial radio partner of the Blues.
The agreement will see the Blues gain significant daily airtime on Southend Radio 105.1FM with the radio station enjoying advertising and hospitality at Roots Hall.
Commenting on the deal Southend Radio’s News & Programmes Editor Nick Hull said: “Southend Radio 105.1 FM has been covering Southend United since we first went live on air and is delighted to be the new official commercial radio partner of the Blues. With Paul Sturrock in charge it looks like the Club will have a terrific season and Southend Radio 105.1 FM will be the first to bring you the latest news and updates from the Club.”
Southend United Commercial Director Ian Riddoch said: “Southend Radio 105.1 FM is the perfect commercial radio partner for the Blues. The station is based at Southend but with its sister station in Chelmsford it has the audience reach we are looking for. Southend Radio105.1FM has always been a huge supporter of the Club and we are all excited to be working with such a positive media partner in the season ahead.”
Paul Sturrock Appointed Manager!
Southend United have a new management team - following the depature of Steve Tilson. Experienced boss Paul Sturrock has arrived at Roots Hall - and will be assisted by former Salisbury City manager Tommy Widdrington.
Sturrock has managed Plymouth on two occasions, as well Swindon Town, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Dundee United and St Johnstone.
Widdrington has spent five years helping Salisbury climb to the top tier of Non League football - punching above their weight on many occasions. If financial problems had not hit their points total last season - the club would have finished just outside of the Football League promotion play offs.
Keep listening to Southend Radio 105.1 for views from both, along with the reaction of the fans!
