Chris Huhne RESIGNS

Chris Huhne and his ex-wife are being charged over claims he dodged a speeding penalty.

Mr Huhne allegedly asked Vicky Pryce to accept points on his behalf in 2003.

They're both accused of perverting the course of justice and will appear in court later this month.

Dale Farm costs revealed

It cost more than seven million pounds to clear the Dale Farm travellers site at Crays Hill.

Basildon Council spent 4.8-million pounds on last October's operation to remove families living there.

Essex Police spent a further 2.4-million on its part in the clearance.

The council's warning fresh enforcement action remains likely, as travellers living on a neighbouring site are flouting the law.

Blues Blast Brady

The Board at Southend United have issued a withering condemnation of former chief executive Tara Brady.

The statement comes just days after he quit Roots Hall amid claims he's fallen out with chairman Ron Martin.

The club statement blasts Mr Brady for not being interested in the back office functions of the club - which meant others had to pick up some of his workload.

It also says his lack of committment to the CEO job left him more a Director of Football.

The statement also blames him for the Blues' poor commercial and marketing situation.

A number of texts between Mr Brady and the Chairman have also been released - with Ron Martin saying he wanted to talk before the gloves came off.

Huhne - Decision Today

The Energy Secretary will find out this morning if he faces prosecution over claims he dodged a speeding penalty after exceeding the limit on the M11 in Essex.

It's alleged Chris Huhne asked his ex-wife Vicky Pryce to accept speeding points on his behalf in 2003.

The claims first emerged in 2 newspapers last year.

This morning's announcement, following an eight-month police investigation, will be made by the Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer.

Mr Huhne has always denied any wrongdoing.

But if the case does proceed it's expected to spell the end of the Liberal Democrat MP's Cabinet career.
